The Mail
Hi guys! It’s been a long time… again. My posting schedule has been wonky lately but as soon as I get into a routine with school I’ll hopefully start posting normal. My goal currently is one post per week but we’ll see ;). Anyways, on with the post!

The Brightfeild goat family is a very busy family. Johan and Carolina, the parents, have work and different clubs and Sebastian and Klara, the children have school, soccer and writing club respectively. So you can see how crazy the house usually is. Especially since Carolina started work at the school board.
“Hi mom, good morning!” Sebastian said as he and Klara entered the room.
“Morning seb, I have cereal for you and your sister.” Carolina answered
“Oh yum! My favorite!”
“Mom, do you have work today?” Klara asked while slurping the rest of the cereal down“I do actually.” Carolina answered right as Johan entered the room.
“Wait, really? You didn’t tell me” Johan said. That day was his shift as the postman for littletown. He and Thomas Seashore cat trade off.“Oh no!” Carolina said, “ the kids won’t have anywhere to go. It’s so last minute I can’t call a friend or anything-““Don’t worry,” Johan said, “I’ll take the kids with me on my route. I don’t have a lot of post to delvier anyways.”
“Oh thanks so much Johan!” Carolina said. The kids were equally happy. They always love seeing all the Littletowners and what post they got. And seeing their friends on the route was an added bonus.
“Ok kids pack a lunch and water, you’ll be leaving soon!”
Wow! They really packed a lot!“Just one more thing!” Klara added
The strawberry milk! How could they forget!
Then they closed them up. “Seb, fill the waters!”
Looks like everything is all packed up. Let’s go!
“Here ya go dad!”“Thanks kids let’s go, we’re already behind scedule!”
And they’re off!
Soon they met up with the Grazing sheep, who just happened to have a letter addressed to them.
“Thanks Johan!” Zac said, excitedly opening the letter, “ these are the illustrations for my new book! I can’t wait to show them to Dolly!”“Anytime Zac,” Johan said. He always enjoyed reading Zacs latest book.
“Thanks again!” Zac said, as they pedaled on to the next house.
Can you guess by the books what house this is? It’s the Buckley’s! Both of the Buckley parents are teachers and avid readers so they set out a little library so that anyone stopping by can grab a book.
Seems like Klara and Sebastian like the bookshelf too!
When they knocked on the door, Bea answered with a smile.“Hiiiiii!” She said“Hello, is your mother or father home? I have a package to deliver.”
“Sure, I’ll get one of them right now!” Bea said and ran back into her house.
Suddenly Daphne, Beas older sister came to the door. “You had a package?” She asked
“Daphne!” Klara said. She and Klara were good friends at school.
“Could you PLEASE get your mother or father?” Johan asked. He was losing patience.

“Hello, I’m here.” Quinn Buckey said from the doorway.
“Here you go Quinn,” Johan said as he handed her the package.
“Oh thank you, I’ve been waiting for this!” Quinn said, eagerly taking the package out of Johans hands.
“What is it mom?” Bea asked.
“It’s the dress I’ll be wearing to my cousins wedding.” Quinn said, “I’m the maid of honor.”
“Congrats.” Said klara, “see ya at school Daphne!”
“What’s our next stop dad?” Sebastian asked
“The Hopscotch rabbits house.” Johan answered
The hopscotch rabbits had just welcomed two new members to the family, twins Saoirse and Abner and all the kids were playing outside their house.
While Johan fished out the letter, klara and Sebastian said hello to the hopscotches.
“Hello kids, is your mother or father home?” Johan asked.
“Yes, my mother will be right out. She’s getting ready for a Littletown Historical Society meeting.”
“Good for her,” Johan said, an avad history nerd himself.
“Oh the mail is here!” Mrs hopscotch said, “thank you Johan.”
She tore the letter open “oh kids!” She said, “you have a new baby cousin!”
The hopscotch rabbit family is ever growing.
“Congrats!” Klara said as she hopped on the bike.
The last stop before they went home was the hopscotch rabbits grandparents, Jerry and Marianne, who were sitting on the porch enjoying the warm summer day.
“Here’s your letter Marianne.” Johan said
“Oh thank you Johan, I think I know exactly what this is.”
She tore it open.
“A coupon?” Sebastian said peering at the paper in Marianne’s hand.
“Yes,” Marianne said matter-of-factly, “ it’s for fifty percent off cookies at the supermarket. Speaking of which I have something for you kids.”
“No you don’t have to!” Johan said as Marianne went inside.
“Two cookies for two helpful children!” Marianne announced, handing one to each of them.
“Thanks Marianne!” Klara and Sebastian said
“Thanks Marianne,” Johan said exasperatedly.
“Bye Jerry, bye Marianne!” The kids said as they left.
“Bye klara, bye seb, bye Johan!”
Once they got home, Johan went straight to the kitchen room to grab some crackers, his favorite snack. The kids sat on the couch, exhausted.
“Hi Johan, how was it?” Carolina asked, “I’m making soup.”
“Sounds good,” Johan said, “ the kids had a good time and so did I. I’m really glad I have this job.”
“I’m glad,” Carolina said. “ now where are the kids?”
“On the couch,” Johan said, “ they’re exhausted.”
When they walked in, they saw that Klara and Sebastian had fallen asleep.
“Thanks for taking them,” Carolina whispered.
“Of course,” Johan said, “ they’d make great post officers when they grow up.”
I hope you enjoyed this story. I’ve always wanted the brightfeilds and until about a month ago I though they were archived. But I was on Amazon looking at calico critters when I stumbled upon them and I had to buy them. They are so cute and I think this story suits them perfectly and it was so much fun to write. I hope you have a great rest of your day and I’ll be back with more posts soon!
